After 21 days, I’m extremely happy with my 30 Day Challenge. How are you doing with your 30 Day?

I’ll admit, during week two, I had doubts whether I was going to endure my impersonation of a yogi. Then something surprising happened on Monday, November 5th. It’s what we in the coaching world call an Aha moment.

At the start of week three, my body was aching everywhere. My big toe was black and blue. I was popping 400-800 MG of ibuprofen on a regular basis. I know my body. The best thing to do when I’m sore is to keep moving. So I did.

Last Monday, I scanned the yoga schedule at Dharma Yoga Syracuse and saw a HOT Vinyasa Flow class being held at the downtown Syracuse location at 4:30p. Last week, I described the strenuous effects of VF. Well, HOT VF is where they crank up portable heaters and increase the room temperature to over 90°F. I’m always pushing my body so I thought what the hell. As Emeril Lagasse says, “Let’s kick it up a notch!”

Before the class began, I told myself, “Steve, you’re going to learn something new.” That was it. My movements were effortless and my confidence level grew at a steady pace. By the time the class was over, I thought I’d look like a prizefighter that went 15 rounds. I barely broke a sweat. My body is changing to something better.

Yoga is yummy.
