Glad to say, I successfully completed my 30 Day Challenge of playing a yogi for 30 days. This experience has had such a profound effect on my health and mindset.
The word “mindset” has come up a lot lately. I recorded an interview with my friend Michelle Grandy (soon to be posted) on her Power Vinyasa 40 Day Challenge and she mentioned the word –mindset– numerous times.
This weekend I saw the movie “Life of Pi.” Watching Pi mold his perspective, in an unthinkable situation, surviving 227 days on the Pacific ocean, was an inspiring emotional roller coaster. Albeit a fictional story, this motion picture has many teachable moments in regards to mindset. I encourage you to run, not walk, to see “Pi” soon.

Managing Your Mindset

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions to facilitate high levels of collaboration and productivity. Understanding one’s own EQ will empower an individual to better understand how his or her emotions are influencing choices. Yoga is a part of me forever. Not sure if I’ll continue to do it every day. We shall see. This week, I’m planning on taking a class every day.

Ah, the mindset. You know when I first came online I had no idea what people were talking about. It’s all in your mindset they would say, yeah right! Little did I know it was something I’ve been doing my whole life without really knowing it but it absolutely shapes you as a person. Without understanding how your mind truly works you’ll never really get to where you hope to be.
I’m happy to hear that things are moving forward for you for the upcoming year. I haven’t actually gotten that far but my mind if working in overdrive at the moment with all these ideas of how I’ll move forward.
